The present invention relates to a method of measuring the bearing angle ? of arrival of electromagnetic signals in the HF band that are received by a crossed-frame antenna or an antenna array of the Adcock type, the method comprising at least the following steps: o the phase shift ?f between the signals received on the cosine channel and the sine channel of the antenna respectively is measured (step 401); o the ratio R of the amplitudes of the signals received on the cosine channel and the sine channel of the antenna respectively is measured (step 402); and the bearing angle ? of arrival of the wave is determined as a function of the phase shift ?f and the ratio R (step 403). The invention applies in particular to the detection and location of electromagnetic signal transmitters, in particular in the naval field.
