PURPOSE: A telematics terminal and a control method using the same is provided to operate a software corresponding to a vehicle network. CONSTITUTION: A receiver(110) receives vehicle hardware ID information of a recognition target vehicle, and a storage unit(120) stores a dedicated application depending on the kind of vehicle hardware. A control unit(130) selects one dedicated application based on the ID information of the vehicle hardware ID information and executes the selected dedicated application. The vehicle hardware ID information is attached to the vehicle.
