<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator system more flexibly improved in security. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This elevator system 10 includes: a detecting section for detecting getting-on/off of passengers 5 into/from a car 3 by detecting whether the light emitted from a light emitting part 20a to a light receiving part 20b is shielded or not; a determining section for determining whether the passengers 5 respectively have an ID article, in which previously registered identification information is recorded, or not by performing communication by electromagnetic wave between the ID article when the detecting section detects getting-on/off of the passenger 5; and an informing means for informing, when the determining section determined that the passenger 5 does not have the ID article, the passengers 5, who were given the ID article, while preventing the passenger 5, who does not have the ID article, from noticing.
