The accumulator (3) has a transportable container filled with a storage medium e.g. salt system, binary nitrate salts, potassium nitrate (KNO3)-sodium nitrate or KNO3- lithium nitrate, where the storage medium receives heat energy through a container wall, and delivers heat energy as process heat at a later time for steam production through the container wall. The container is made of carbide, carbide alloy, ceramic material, zirconium oxide and slate. An independent claim is also included for a method for supplying process heat for a steam circuit.
