<p>PURPOSE: A remote updating method of firmware is provided to prevent an automatic teller machine from being illegally controlled by external hacking through a network. CONSTITUTION: A signature value is generated using the header of encoded firmware(S224f). The generated signature value and the signature value stored in the header are compared(S224g). If the signature values are matched, a checksum of the real firmware is performed to generate a new checksum value(S224h). The generated new checksum value and a checksum value stored in the header are compared(S224i). If the checksum values are matched, authentication about the new firmware is completed. The new firmware is updated in an automatic teller machine.</p> |
