<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light control device by which light having a desired beam section is obtained in a technology for presenting a phase pattern formed by superposing a phased grating pattern and a phase pattern having predetermined phase modulation distribution to a space light modulator of a phase modulation type. <P>SOLUTION: The light control device 1 includes: a light source 10; a prism 20; the space light modulator 30; a driving part 31; a control part 32; a lens 41; an aperture 42; and a lens 43. The space light modulator 30 is of the phase modulation type, has a plurality of two-dimensionally arranged pixels, phase modulation in each of the plurality of pixels is possible within a range of 4π, and presents the phase pattern for modulating phases of light in each of the plurality of pixels. The phase pattern is constituted by superposition of a blazed grating pattern for optical diffraction whose phase modulation range is equal to or less than 2π and a phase pattern having the predetermined phase modulation distribution whose phase modulation range is equal to or less than 2π. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
