摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine capable of executing the regeneration of catalyst surely by controlling independently the temperature and air-fuel ratio of each piece of catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust emission control device of the internal combustion engine is equipped with a filter, a NOx storing reduction catalyst, a first and second passages, a first and second fuel adding valves, a first and second pumps, and a controlling means. The first passage is arranged on the exhaust passage in such a way as pinching the filter to form a loop together with part of the exhaust passage including the filter, while the second passage is arranged on the exhaust passage in such a way as pinching the NOx storing reduction catalyst to form a loop together with part of the exhaust passage including the NOx storing reduction catalyst. The controlling means adjusts the temperature of the filter and the air-fuel ratio by controlling the first fuel adding valve and the first pump during the EV running, and also adjusts the temperature of the NOx storing reduction catalyst and the air-fuel ratio by controlling the second fuel adding valve and the second pump. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
