PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that reduces deteriorated toner in developer. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes an image holder, a charger for charging the surface of the image holder, a latent image forming section, and a developing unit. The charger charges the body part of the surface of the image holder, except a predetermined end. The developing unit includes: a developing roll that conveys developer to a developing area facing the image holder; a conveying body that is at a downstream of a toner supply port and holds developer on its surface; and an adsorbent that has a potential difference between the conveying body and itself and attracts, by virtue of the potential difference, the toner from developer being conveyed by the conveying body.
