PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure safety even when mounted on a mobile unit, including electric automobile and deep-sea exploration machine. SOLUTION: The battery module 10 is provided with a plurality of battery packs 13 and a unit battery container 14 for housing the battery packs 13. The unit battery container 14 is provided with an upper half case 18, which is a lid and a lower half case 19 in which the battery packs 13 are mounted. The lower half case 19 has a through-hole, penetrating in the plate thickness direction, formed at a position opposed to the lower center part of each battery pack 13, and a branch tube 23 is respectively connected to each through-hole, and the branch tubes 23 are connected to one tube 25 having a liquid leakage detecting sensor 24 at one end part.
