PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a contact area between an electrode wire and a thermistor to allow high junction strength to prevent an element from being broken by a thermo cycle in a thermistor element and a method of manufacturing the thermistor element, and to facilitate a thickness adjustment and to restrain a variation in values of resistance in manufacture. SOLUTION: The thermistor element includes: a metal oxide sintered body 4, where a chip-like forming body of ceramic powder, namely a thermistor material, is sintered for formation; and at least a pair of electrode wires 5 connected to both the sides of the metal oxide sintered body 4. A groove 2a is formed on both the sides of the metal oxide sintered body 4, and the electrode wires 5 are connected, while being embedded in the groove 2a. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
