<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that a subscriber station (SS) detects the same preamble at plurality of times in one frame if the same preamble modulation series is employed in both of access zone and relay zone. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The amble modulation series in the down link relay zone of an IEEE802. 16 network is the reverse version of preamble modulation series of the network. For example, the amble modulation series is correlated with the preamble modulation series PN<SB>i</SB>(i=0, 1, ..., 113) of the IEEE802.16 in accordance with PN<SP>A</SP><SB>i</SB>(j)=PN<SB>i</SB>(J-j), i=0, 1, ..., 113, j=0, 1, ..., J.
