<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bagging apparatus that efficiently and securely accommodates an item into a bag by opening the mouth of the bag, such as an envelope, while conveying the bag. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The bagging device includes: a bag hopper (12), a bag drawing means (13), and an item stopper (15). The bag hopper has a bag drawing opening (12e) and a flap locking part (12f) on the bag drawing means side. The bag drawing means has: a table 12a for placing an item thereon; a bag gripping member (20) for gripping the opposite-flap-side open edge of a bag; and a flap holding member for lifting a flap and opening the mouth of each envelope. A bag is drawn from a bag drawing opening by reciprocally moving the bag drawing means between a forward position where the leading end of a table enters the bag drawing opening and a retracting position where a bag is gripped by the bag gripping member and moved backward.
