PURPOSE: A trouble diagnosis device of a control rod location detector, a core protection calculation system for comprising the same and a failure diagnostic method thereof are provided to efficiently prevent the generation of the economic loss by preventing the abort of the power generation. CONSTITUTION: A trouble diagnosis device of a control rod location detector comprises a core protection calculator(5) and a comparator. The comparator compares the fixed range with the difference of the signal value received from the control rod location detector. The comparator decides the received signal from the control rod location detector based the subgroup in case of the fixed range with the difference of the signal value is out of the preset value. The comparator transmits the malfunction alert of the control rod location detector to the core protection calculator in the state where comparator decides the error signal. The comparator evaluates the error range about control rods belonging to each subgroup.
