PURPOSE: An arc extinguishing apparatus for a mold-cased circuit breaker is provided to absorb arc by forming a plurality of grids or arc runners which are made of an iron material or a magnetic material. CONSTITUTION: An arc extinguishing apparatus extinguishes arc generated at contact point. A fixed contact(1) includes an annular unit(1b) which forms an annular current path. The fixed contact applies magnetic driving force toward the arc extinguishing apparatus according to a hall effect. A moving contact(2) is rotated to a separated position from the fixed contact or a contact position with the fixed contact.
