TORQUE CONVERTER FOR A VEHICLE

PURPOSE: A torque converter for a vehicle is provided to closely attach a front cover to a frictional material by including a taper-shaped incline on one side of the front cover in contact with the frictional materials even though a piston is elastically transformed. CONSTITUTION: An impeller(6) is combined with a front cover and rotates. A turbine is arranged to face the impeller and rotates according to the rotation of the impeller. A reactor(10) is located between the impeller and the turbine and changes the flow of oil from the turbine to the impeller. A lockup clutch is movably combined with the shaft of the turbine and includes a piston which is closely adhered to or separated from the front cover. The lockup clutch directly connects the front cover with the turbine. A torsional damper(20) is combined with the lockup clutch and includes springs which are arranged in a circumferential direction of the shaft and a retaining plate to support the springs.
