- 17 A distributed power system 10 is described for a primary consist 12 provided with a head end lead loco L1, one or more wagons W coupled to the head end 5 lead loco and a banker consist 14 comprising at least a banker lead loco B1 coupled to an end wagon Wn distant the head end lead loco L1. The distributed power system 10 comprises respective radios 16 in the head end lead loco 14 and the banker lead loco B1, each radio 16 provided with a unique address, and a wayside wireless addressable communications system 18.
