PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system and a communication apparatus by which privacy can be protected by allowing a calling party and a called party of communication to select whether or not to report positional information. SOLUTION: The communication system comprises: a calling-side cellular phone 515 including a communication section 11 for transmitting first notification permission information for the positional information of the calling-side cellular phone itself; and a called-side cellular phone 517 including a communication section 11 for transmitting second notification permission information for the positional information of the called-side cellular phone itself, and a display 14 capable of displaying map information related to a position of the called-side cellular phone itself. When the transmission of the first notification permission information and the transmission of the second notification permission information from the calling-side cellular phone 515 and the called-side cellular phone 517 are confirmed, the called-side cellular phone 517 displays a map screen related to the positions of the calling-side cellular phone 515 and the called--side cellular phone itself on the display 14.
