摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an internal combustion engine capable of suppressing torque fluctuation. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The control device for the internal combustion engine includes an offset crank mechanism 50 capable of changing the position of a rotation center C of a crank shaft 20 to either a first area side or a second area side separated by an axis A of a cylinder 31 and an ECU for determining whether a combustion state is homogeneous combustion or stratified combustion and changing the position of the rotation center C of the crank shaft 20 to either the first area side or the second area side. In the case where the rotation center of the crank shaft 20 is located in the first area, a lowering speed of a piston 24 is lower than a climbing speed. In the case where the rotation center of the crank shaft 20 is located in the second area, the climbing speed of the piston 24 is lower than the lowering speed. The ECU 20 changes the position of the rotation center of the crank shaft 20 to the first area side in the case where the combustion state is homogeneous combustion and changes the position of the center C of the crank shaft 20 to the second area side in the case where the combustion state is stratified combustion.
