PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction stir welding method which ensures superior joint strength when steel plates are joined by stirring. SOLUTION: With two or more steel members superimposed, and with a rotary tool rotated and pressed therein from one side, the steel members are heated and stirred for welding.
