SPHERICAL POLYMER BEADS AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A spherical polymer bead and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to obtain the polymer bead having light weight and improved solvent resistance using a vinyl monomer having an alkyl group and to prevent the precipitation. CONSTITUTION: A spherical polymer bead is comprised of an emulsified copolymer in which a vinyl monomer and a multifunctional monomer are cross-linked. The polymer bead has an average diameter of 2-200 μm, a coefficient of variation(C.V.%) less than 35%, and a true specific gravity less than 1.20. The cross-linked emulsified copolymer is manufactured through polymerization of an emulsion including the vinyl monomer, the multifunctional monomer, a crosslinking agent, polymerization initiator, and a dispersing stabilizer.
