PURPOSE: A method and a system for providing an application which notices whether to support a terminal are provided to supply information about whether to support a terminal to a user, thereby preventing an application which is not supported from being downloaded in advance. CONSTITUTION: An application providing server receives a download request signal of a selected application(S20). The application providing server extracts terminal information of a terminal(S30). The application providing server extracts supportable terminal list information about the application(S40). When the terminal information is not included in a supportable list, the application providing server determines support availability of the application.
