摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface treating agent of a kenaf bast fiber that has a very active feature and is used for producing a composite material that is lightweight, mechanically strong, and excellent in formability and water resistance, and being capable of reducing an environmental burden. <P>SOLUTION: A method for producing the surface treating agent of the kenaf bast fiber that is used for producing a composite material composed of the kenaf bast fiber and a polypropylene is provided. A polypropylene and a methacryloxypropyltrialkoxysilane are immersed in a solution in the presence of a radical-generating agent. The methacryloxypropyltrialkoxysilane is graft-polymerized to the polypropylene. Thus, the surface treating agent for the kenaf bast fiber is produced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p>
