<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an object detection and identification device for correctly obtaining a background update timing even with respect to video whose frame rate is low. <P>SOLUTION: An image comparison part 3 compares an input image with the background image of a background image storage part 2. An object determination part 4 determines the existence of an object from the result of image comparison by the image comparison part 3, and outputs the determination result to a background image generation part 5. A movement determination part 6 for background image update extracts movement in the image from the temporal change of the input image, and outputs the movement extraction result to the background image generation part 5. The background image generation part 5 updates the background image on the basis of the movement extraction result by the movement determination part 6 for background image update, the object determination result by the object determination part 4 and the current input image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
