PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrical connector capable of stable connection, and capable of establishing grounding after the connection. SOLUTION: For the electrical connector 10 which is to be connected to a cable or a substrate, provided with a required number of contacts 12 equipped with a contact part in contact with a connection object and a fixed part fixed to at least one insulator and a connecting part, at least one insulator in which the contacts 12 are fixed/arranged, and a shell 22 arranged so as to cover at least one insulator; a first concave part 185, such as one reaching at least one contact 14, is formed at the insulator located at a side the object for connection is inserted, and that, a third concave part 144 is formed at the shell 22; at a position corresponding to the first concave part to form an insertion groove by the first concave part and a second concave part.
