<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a keyboard for character input to be used in a computer or the like, the keyboard preventing tenovaginitis. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The keyboard 10 has a plurality of keys 13 and keys 22L and 22R for space input and/or character conversion as one of the keys 13. The keyboard includes a thumb placing part 21 which supports from below the thumbs of both or one hand of an operator placed at a home position and which does not affect keyboard operation. The keys 22L and 22R for space input and/or character conversion are arranged at positions on the left and/or right side of the thumb mounting part 21, and has keytops 24 that move in an almost horizontal direction.
