<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce wasteful power consumption by appropriately controlling an iris and a shutter, using a common motor. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The diaphragm driving device 100 includes a driver 18b, and four switches SW1 to SW4 are disposed in the driver 18b. During the iris control, the switches SW1 and SW4 are turned on, the switches SW2 and Sw3 are turned off, and a voltage Vcc is applied from a constant voltage power source to the motor 46 through an LPF 48. Accordingly, diaphragm blades are opened to adjust the exposure amount. During the shutter control, the switches SW1 and SW4 are turned off, the switches SW2 and SW3 are turned on, and the voltage Vcc, having a polarity opposite to that upon the iris control, is applied from the constant voltage supply source to the motor 46 (without going through the LPF 48).
