<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve ease of work for inserting a clip in the clip insertion holes of a cover member and a sound absorbing member, and to prevent the insertion failure of the clip with low-cost equipment. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In this workbench for combining two members, a plurality of clip insertion holes previously opened in the cover member and a mat-like sound absorbing member temporarily placed on the cover member are brought into line with each other, thereby inserting the clips in these clip insertion holes respectively and combining the cover member and the sound absorbing member. A workpiece receptacle table 20 is arranged on a table 10. This work receptacle table is formed in a hollow box shape capable of supporting the combined place of the sound absorbing member in the cover member from the backside, and a light source 26 is arranged inside thereof. Moreover, the surface supporting the cover member in the work receptacle table 20 is configured to pass the light from the light source toward the respective clip inserting holes of the cover member and the sound absorbing member in a condition of being brought into line with each other.
