PURPOSE: A device and a method for luminosity independent texture synthesis are provided to generate synthesis image which does not have cutting image by searched neighboring patches. CONSTITUTION: An image synthesizing unit(410) generates synthesis image by combining the patches to make patches which matching error is the smallest between patches gained form a provide example texture to be neighbored. An image correcting unit(420) converts the synthesis image and the example texture into unchangeable luminosity domain. The image correcting unit corrects the synthesis image by a point which a neighboring distance between neighboring pixels corresponding to neighboring pixels which is close to a certain point within the synthesis image is minimum.
