<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device suppressing the occurrence of tooth hitting noises by suppressing rapid displacement in a thrust direction of a helical gear constituting a reduction gear mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: At least one gear constituting the reduction gear mechanism consists of a metal shaft body 33a, a metal annular gear 43 formed of the helical gear arranged on the peripheral side of the shaft body, and an elastic ring 45 interposed in an annular space between the shaft body and the annular gear for elastically combining the shaft body and the annular gear.
