PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of control interference between automatic switching caused by selecting a specific travel mode and manual switching caused by switch operation, in a control state of a vehicle, in a vehicle control device. SOLUTION: This vehicle control device includes a manual control state switching means for switching the control state of the vehicle by operation of a predetermined control switch, a travel mode selecting means for selecting a travel mode when the vehicle travels, an automatic control state switching means for automatically switching the control state of the vehicle in a predetermined control state when selecting the specific travel mode except for an ordinary travel mode by the travel mode selecting means, and a manual switching restricting means for restricting switching of the control state of the vehicle by operation of a specific predetermined control switch by the manual control state switching means when selecting the specific travel mode except for the ordinary travel mode by the travel mode selecting means.
