PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: with an increase in calorific value generated inside an imaging apparatus, heat cannot be radiated sufficiently, so that failure or performance deterioration of electronic components occurs. SOLUTION: A video camera 10 as an imaging apparatus, comprises: a body 110 including a heat radiating port; an air blowing part 102 which blows air for discharging heat from the heat radiating port; a display part 101 which is freely opened/closed with respect to the body 110 and disposed to cover the heat radiating port in a closed state; and a control part for controlling the air blowing part 102 to perform driving with a first driving voltage when the display part 101 is in an open state, and controlling the air blowing part to perform driving with a second driving voltage higher than the first driving voltage when the display part 101 is in the closed state.
