PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a downsized and lightened power tool which is equipped with a switch mechanism ensuring safe and reliable performance of the on/off operation of a switch body, and the housing of which is made compact by downsizing the switch mechanism. SOLUTION: The power tool is structured as follows: the switch mechanism includes a movable shaft moving in a direction where the switch body is turned on by the operation of a second switch lever, a contact lever which positions between the switch body and a primary switch lever and one end of which is rotatably pivoted on the tip end of the movable shaft, the primary switch lever moving the other end of the contact lever in a direction where the switch body is turned on, and a biasing member constantly biasing the movable shaft downward.
