<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating oil supply device of an internal combustion engine capable of appropriately determining its abnormality, as to a hydraulic control mechanism for switching pressure of a lubricating oil supplied to a lubricating portion of the internal combustion engine. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the lubricating oil supply device 40 of the engine 10, the pressure of a supply passage 42 for supplying the lubricating oil to the lubricating portion of the engine 10 by an engine driven oil pump 43 is controlled by the hydraulic control mechanism 50. The lubricating oil supply device 40 includes the hydraulic control mechanism 50 that releases the lubricating oil to a predetermined portion when a supply pressure P supplied from the supply passage 42 to the control mechanism 50 exceeds a predetermined relief pressure. Whether the hydraulic control mechanism 50 has any abnormality or not is determined based on change of engine operation state when an instruction is transmitted to the hydraulic control mechanism 50 to switch a predetermined relief pressure.
