<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure that asynchronous transmission is executed without disturbing a communication cycle of 125 μs of IEEE1394. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An asynchronous transmission limit value is calculated based on the length and communication speed of an asynchronous packet; asynchronous transmission is executed in the communication cycle when an asynchronous transmission request is set at timing earlier than the asynchronous transmission limit value; and the asynchronous transmission in the communication cycle is held and the asynchronous transmission is executed in the next communication cycle when an asynchronous transmission request is set at timing exceeding the asynchronous transmission limit value.
