POLYPEPTIDE AND POLYNUCLEOTIDE DERIVED FROM MYCOBACTERIA AND SCREENING METHOD FOR ANTI-MYCOBACTERIAL AGENT

PURPOSE: A method for screening mycobacteria-derived polypeptide, polynucleotide, and anti-mycobacterial agent is provided to develop anti-mycobacterial agent without side effects. CONSTITUTION: A mycobacteria-derivaed polypeptide contains an amino acid of sequence number 2. The polypeptide activates transcription of carbon monoxide dehydrogenase. A mycobacteria-derived polynucleotide comprises: (a) a nucleotide sequence encoding an amino acid of sequence number 2; (b) a complementary nucleotide sequence to the nucleotide sequence; or (c) a nucleotide sequence which is hybridized with the sequence (a) or (b) under stringent conditions. A method for screening the anti-mycobacterial agent comprises: a step of contacting a sample to cells containing a polypeptide of sequence number 2 or a polynucleotide of sequence number 1; a step of measuring transcription level or expression level of the polynucleotide or polypeptide activation; and a step of determining sample as the anti-mycobacterial agent.
