<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent generation of parasitic capacitance between anode electrodes of each organic EL element of two pixels when auxiliary capacitance is formed over between the two pixels. <P>SOLUTION: In pixel layout structure for forming the auxiliary capacitance 25 over the two adjacent pixels on the same pixel column, a first metal layer 302 which forms the auxiliary capacitance 25 is electrically connected to an anode electrode 307B of an organic EL element 21B. In addition, for a second metal layer 304 which forms the auxiliary capacitance 25, its potential is considered as fixed potential.
