<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spare tire carrier apparatus having a guide in which a collision of a guide member and a disc wheel can be prevented and at the same time a spare tire can be accurately held at a specified position to avoid an interference with a surrounding component. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The spare tire carrier apparatus 6 has a guide that comprises a winding-up machine 63 including a chain capable of being wound up, a hook member arranged at the extremity end of the chain and engaged with a center hole 51a of a disc wheel 51, and a guide member 64 inserted into the center hole 51a of the disc wheel 51 to restrict a moving direction of the disc wheel 51 at the time of winding-up the chain. The guide member 64 guides a spare tire 5 to rise and move in such a direction as one in which the spare tire 5 may move away from a vehicle-fixed component that is fixed to the lower part of the vehicle body near the spare tire at the time of winding-up the chain.
