PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the wireless communication device which can provide more significant power saving effect than before. SOLUTION: The wireless communication device includes a wireless communication means having a function of measuring the RSSI value and the noise level during wireless communication, and switches the sleep mode in which the function of the wireless communication means is stopped at least partially and the active mode in which wireless communication is performed by operating the wireless communication means. The device further includes an operation control unit which performs wireless communication with a lower transmission power by controlling the wireless communication means when both the S/N ratio calculated from the RSSI value and the noise level and the RSSI value are larger than a prestored S/N ratio and a prestored threshold of RSSI value.
