METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING WEATHERPROOF AND FOULINGPROOF EMULSION COATING MATERIAL AND COATED FILM THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weatherproof and foulingproof emulsion coating material which contains a resin component and composite particles consisting of inorganic silicate-titanium oxide composite material and to provide a coated film thereof. SOLUTION: There is provided a method for manufacturing weatherproof and foulingproof emulsion coating material containing the resin component and inorganic silicate-titanium oxide composite particles having coated inorganic silicate. In the method, a silicon compound aqueous solution is mixed with an aqueous solution of an aluminum compound or a transition metal compound to prepare precursor suspension, salt as a byproduct produced in a process described above is removed, a base material is added to the precursor suspension and obtained mixture is subjected to hydrothermal reaction to synthesize a titanium oxide complex having a surface covered with the inorganic silicate, then the titanium oxide complex is compounded with the coating material to obtain the emulsion coating material. The emulsion coating material and the coated film thereof are also provided. The emulsion coating material has an excellent function well-balanced on both of weather resistance and fouling resistance which has not been achieved by an existing optical catalyst-blended coating material.
