PURPOSE: A sound absorbing material for the interior of a vehicle is provided to minimize dust by forming first and second non-woven fabric layers and to improve self-extinguishing properties of the material. CONSTITUTION: A sound absorbing material for the interior of a vehicle comprises a fiber layer(10) and a first nonwoven fabric layer(20). The fiber layer is formed by mixing mixed yarns 30~40 weight%, natural animal fiber 30~40 weight%, and polyester fiber of low melting point 25~35 weight%. The first nonwoven fabric layer is formed on one surface of the fiber layer and is composed of polyester.
