PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll polishing method for providing a roll with superior roundness. SOLUTION: This roll polishing method includes: the first step of centering a first roll (17), and grinding the outer peripheral surface (17c) of the first roll (17) and the bearing parts (17b) at both ends thereof by a grinder (31) to finish the roundness of the first roll (17) at room temperature to within 25μm; the second step of attaching bearings (19) and bearing housings (23) to the bearing parts (17b), respectively; the third step of fixing the bearing housings (23) to a base (5); the fourth step of rotating the first roll (17); and the fifth step of rotating the second roll (3) having a roundness of within 3μm and also having a polishing means (29) on the outer peripheral surface (3c), and pressing the second roll (3) against the outer peripheral surface (17c) of the first roll (17) to polish the outer peripheral surface (17c) of the first roll (17).
