<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat belt retractor properly starting a lock operation of seat belt drawing operation even during transition from moderate deceleration to rapid deceleration. <P>SOLUTION: An acceleration sensor 100 includes a sensor holder 10 tilted integrally with a seat back S; a sensor case 20 supported by the sensor holder 10 so as to freely oscillate and normally horizontally holding an inertial field supporting surface 23 by oscillating during the tilting of the seat back; a self-sustaining inertial field 30 housed in the sensor case 20 while being mounted to the inertial field supporting surface 23, and displaced from its neutral position upon the application of a horizontal acceleration not smaller than a predetermined value; first and second sensor levers 50 and 40 for actuating a lock mechanism by motion generated during the displacement of the inertial field 30; a second inertial field 60 supported so as to freely oscillate and moving according to horizontal acceleration smaller than acceleration to cause the oscillation of the sensor case 20; and a lock tooth 5b and lock claws 74, 75 for locking the sensor case 20 when the second inertial field 60 is moved relatively to the sensor case 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
