<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a degree of freedom in the entering and leaving directions of vehicles while allowing the transfer of pallets in four different directions from a lift regarding a pallet type mechanical parking lot. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The mechanical parking lot includes the pallets 19 loaded with vehicles 70; a parking story 12 where the vehicles 70 are parked together with the pallets 19; a lift 11 having a lift frame 20 mounted with the pallet 19, and a lifting apparatus 22 for driving to lift the lift frame 20; and a pallet transfer apparatus 21 for transferring the pallet 19 to the parking story 12. The pallet transfer apparatus 21 is provided to the lift 11 to transfer the pallet 19 in four orthogonal directions between the lift 11 and the parking story 12. The lifting apparatus 22 is provided with a lift housing 36 comprising a plurality of masts for supporting the lift frame 20 liftably, and counterweights 30, 31 disposed on one side part of the lift housing 36.
