<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manually scanning original document reading apparatus in which the assemblability of a light source section is improved. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The original document reading apparatus includes: a housing; a plate-like light source module arranged in the inside of the housing and having a light source section for irradiating an original document with a light; and a module holder arranged in the inside of the housing, having an incorporating section for sliding and incorporating the light source module and supporting the light source module incorporated into the incorporating section while keeping the distance between the light source and the original document at a predetermined value.
