<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expansion device which is useful for preventive maintenance by increasing load bearing strength of a protrusion overhanging forward onto a floor slab expansion gap. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An expandable/contractible water sealing layer (12) is inserted and infilled, in such a manner as to be freely extractable/insertable from above, into a mutual gap (D) in which erected wall plates (2) of first and second joints (J1) and (J2) face each other. A front-side plate piece (4f) of an anchor plate (4), which serves as a stud anchor (A) for embedding the joint, is welded in a butting state to each of the protrusion (y) overhanging forward onto the floor slab expansion gap (S) of the erected wall plate, and a horizontal post-cast concrete receiving bottom plate (3) for shielding an opened undersurface of the protrusion (y). A rear-side plate piece (4r) of the anchor plate (4) functions as a supporting bearer (9) for a horizontal through-reinforcement (8) which is horizontally laid in the state of being orthogonal to the rear-side plate piece (4r).
