<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator further reducing a working load and improving safety in the maintenance work. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This elevator 10 includes an inspection switch 22, a land call button 27, an inspection label detecting section 30, an informing lamp 31 and a control device 60. The control device 60 has: a mode switching module 61 switching the operation mode with operation of the inspection switch 22 and changing operation mode by the landing call button 27; an inspection label state obtaining module 62; an operation pattern determining module 63; a landing determining module 64 for confirming that an operating signal of the landing call button 27 and a detecting signal of the landing detecting sensor 29 are signals output from the same elevator landing 13; an opening/closing module 65 for operating a car door opening/closing device 19; and an informing lamp operating module 66 lighting the informing lamp 31 of the elevator landing 13, in which a car 12 exists.
