PURPOSE: A steering shaft equipped with an impact reduction apparatus is provided to excel absorb efficiency by steadily attenuating the speed of a steering wheel when the fallback of the steering is completed. CONSTITUTION: A steering shaft equipped with an impact reduction apparatus comprises a steering wheel(11), an upper shaft(13) which is fixed in the center of the steering wheel and generates rotation torque by rotating according to the rotation of the steering wheel, a connecting holder which accepts the lower part of the upper shaft and rotates with being received the rotation torque of the upper shaft and includes an accommodation space extended along the longitudinal direction of the upper shaft, a buffer part which attenuates the impact by bumping to the end part of the upper shaft entering into the connecting holder during a vehicle crash, a lower shaft(15) which receives the rotation torque of the upper shaft through the connecting holder, a lower casing which is fixed on a vehicle body with surrounding the buffer part and a part of the upper shaft which is linked to the buffer part in order to be rotatable, an upper casing which is supported with rotatably surrounding a part of the upper shaft, and an extension spring which elastically draws the upper and the lower casings.
