Genetic test for strabism in cattle

A new bovine microsatellite (I) is coupled with a defect allele comprising at least one of the several defect alleles for phenotype bilateral convergent strabismus with exophthalmus (BCSE), and is identifiable by non-parametric coupling analysis of the imprinting of microsatellites of the BSCE phenotype. Independent claims are included for: (A) new single-strand nucleic acids (II) for use as primers, useful for the analysis of (I) from genomic bovine DNA; and (B) a method for determining the haplotype of a cow, using at least one of the microsatellites (I) (preferably at least two of the microsatellites) or the nucleic acids (II).
