The present invention is directed to a method of manufacturing a plasma display panel (100) and a plasma display panel (100) itself, comprising the steps of preparing a first panel (110) of the plasma display panel (100) having a first surface and a second surface, the second surface being the display surface of the plasma display panel (100) and forming an electromagnetic wave shield filter (150) on said second surface of the first panel (110). The formation of the EMI filter comprises the steps of forming a hydrophobic layer (130) by applying a coating solution directly to said second surface of the first panel (110); applying a conductive ink directly on the hydrophobic layer (130); and heating the conductive ink and the coating solution to form a conductive mesh pattern (140) on the hydrophobic layer.
