<p>A guarding system (1) comprises a user unit (10) and a central reporting station (20).</p><p><Paragraphs id="pa02" num="0002" xmlns:base="http://www.sipo.gov.cn/XMLSchema/base">The user unit comprises:
- a camera (11) connected to internet;
- a controller (12) capable of switching the camera ON and OFF;
- a telephone modem (15) controllable by the controller.</p><p><Paragraphs id="pa03" num="0003" xmlns:base="http://www.sipo.gov.cn/XMLSchema/base">In response to detecting an event, the controller is adapted to have the modem (15) call a pay-number and to switch the camera ON.</p><p><Paragraphs id="pa04" num="0004" xmlns:base="http://www.sipo.gov.cn/XMLSchema/base">The central reporting station comprises:
- a telephone unit (25) associated with the pay-number;
- a controller (22);
- a monitor (21).</p><p><Paragraphs id="pa05" num="0005" xmlns:base="http://www.sipo.gov.cn/XMLSchema/base">The telephone unit is adapted to communicate to the controller information from which the controller can derive the IP-number of the camera.</p><p><Paragraphs id="pa06" num="0006" xmlns:base="http://www.sipo.gov.cn/XMLSchema/base">The controller is adapted to make contact with the camera via internet on the basis of the IP-number thereof, to receive via internet the images provided by the camera, and to display these images on the monitor.
